The Storalex SX340 range of medium-duty industrial shelving is ideally suited for frequent use, commercial environments where you need sturdy units that will last a lifetime.

This medium duty industrial shelving range is perfect for businesses storing items in stockrooms, storerooms or heavy duty domestic applications such as garages or workshops. Each shelf can support 340kg UDL*, however If you need to increase the shelf weight capacity the SX400 range is a heavier duty version of this product.

Using a boltless ‘stud & keyhole’ design, these tried and tested units have been sold in the UK for over 25 years. Rigorously tested these commercial grade units also comply with all relevant ISO manufacturing quality requirements.

Returns

In the unlikely event that you receive a damaged or faulty product, we will collect the item and either replace the item for you or refund you in full. In some cases, we may ask our customers to return the item to us but we will of course refund any extra postage costs to you.

Customers are welcome to return unwanted items to us within 28 working days, providing they are unused and in their original packaging. However please note that customers are responsible for the return costs of unwanted items

Good Product, Poor Delivery

If I was just reviewing the product I'd give it 8 out of 10. The only downside being the terrible mallet which fell apart after a couple of bashes. Fortunately, I had my own.

This is more based on the packaging and delivery of the product.

The shelving units (2x SX340 Industrial Shelving - 2440mm High - 340kg - Melamine - Blue & Orange) arrived on a lorry from DX Delivery. Not timed, this was anywhere between 8am and 6pm so I had to wait at home all day.

The lorry didn't have a tail lift so the poor guy had to manhandle the packages down. The twelve melamine panels in TWO packages of six (weighed a tonne) and then the uprights and beams in another long cardboard sleeve.

After he'd driven off, I opened up the melamine panels to find that one pack of six was completely smashed up on one end, making them useless. All that protected the shelves were some small bits of thick cardboard, so any weight on them could easily cause damage.

The beams and uprights - half of these were bent at the end. I managed to use mole grips, pliers and a vice to return them near enough to shape but a) not everyone has these tools and b) why should I have to?

To be fair, Tufferman were very good about replacing the shelves and they arrived by a different courier a few days later. This time, they'd packed them in threes rather than sixes so they were easier to lift and therefore less likely to get damaged.

So yes, great product but PLEASE, pack these items in a more considerate way (it's fairly obvious that more packages with less in each would equal less damage) and use couriers that have either tail lifts or vans.

Tufferman 340 shelving

Well packaged and fairly easy to put together ( two person job really). I've deducted a star for the useless mallet that came with it which snapped fairly early and the lack of instructions.

Excellent, great quality

Quality item. Well painted frame, shelves are appropriate thickness, and size as expected.
I've painted the shelves so they don't get mouldy (chipboard shelves come untreated which was expected).

Incomplete order

Ordered two sets of shelves and only received part of the order, missing the wooden shelf bases from one of the sets which was really frustrating.
I was sent the missing pieces the following week but it was just annoying to have to wait in on two separate occasions for the courier.
Quite a few of the metal pieces had been bent in transit meaning I had to do some adjustment to make them fit.

Fast delivery, excellent customer service.

The shelves are sturdy and well made, and are easy to put together.

Good customer service too. One item was missing and it was delivered the next day.
